Garmin 010-12497-05 Vivoactive HR Band - XL Black

Items Description

The Garmin 010-12497-05 Vivoactive HR Band - XL Black is a replacement wristband designed for owners of the Vivoactive HR activity tracker who need a longer fit or a fresh strap for daily wear. It is an accessory component rather than a standalone device, intended to restore the fit and appearance of an existing tracker without requiring a new watch purchase.

Because the band is sized XL, it accommodates wrists that fall outside the range of the standard strap supplied with the tracker. The black finish keeps the look neutral and understated, matching the tracker's original aesthetic while suiting gym wear, office attire, and everyday casual clothing alike.

Key Advantages of the Garmin 010-12497-05 Vivoactive HR Band - XL Black | Replacement Wristband for Vivoactive HR

1. Extended XL Sizing for Larger Wrists

The defining characteristic of this variant is its XL length. Standard bands frequently run short for users with wider wrists, which can leave the tracker sitting loosely or forcing an uncomfortable tight fit.

• XL Fit: Cut longer than the regular band option to suit larger wrist circumferences.
• Secure Placement: Keeps the tracker positioned correctly on the wrist during movement.
• Adjustability: Multiple buckle holes allow fine-tuning of tension for daily comfort.

2. Purpose-Built Compatibility with Vivoactive HR

This band is manufactured for the Vivoactive HR activity tracker and carries the Garmin part number 010-12497-05, which identifies it as the XL black variant within the replacement band line. Because it is built to the tracker's original mounting specification, it attaches using the same fitting as the strap supplied in the box, so no adapters or tools are required.

• Model Match: Designed specifically for the Vivoactive HR, not for other Garmin watch families.
• Part Number: 010-12497-05 denotes the XL black version of this band.
• Direct Swap: Fits the tracker's existing band attachment points without modification.

3. Flexible, Skin-Friendly Construction

The band is made from a flexible elastomer material that bends with the wrist rather than resisting it. This construction is typical of sport-oriented straps, where the priority is a secure hold during movement combined with enough softness to be worn for extended periods.

• Flexible Material: Bends and flexes with wrist movement during exercise.
• Everyday Comfort: Soft enough for all-day wear, including sleep tracking sessions.
• Low Maintenance: Wipe-clean surface suited to sweat and frequent handling.

4. Neutral Black Finish

The black colourway is the most understated option in the range. It reads as a plain sports strap rather than a fashion accessory, which makes it easy to pair with the tracker's dark casing and with almost any clothing. For users who want the band to disappear into the background and let the tracker's display do the work, black is the practical choice.

• Understated Look: Blends with the tracker's original dark housing.
• Versatile Pairing: Works with gym clothing, workwear, and casual outfits.
• Hides Wear: Less prone to showing everyday marks than lighter colourways.

5. A Practical Replacement, Not a New Purchase

Bands are the part of a fitness tracker that wears out first. Repeated fastening, sweat exposure, and daily flexing eventually stretch or crack the strap, even when the tracker itself is still working correctly. Replacing the band extends the usable life of the device for a fraction of the cost of a new tracker.

• Cost-Effective: Restores a worn tracker without buying a new device.
• Quick Refresh: Instantly improves the appearance of an older unit.
• Spare Strap: Useful as a second band to rotate between workouts and daily wear.

The Garmin 010-12497-05 Vivoactive HR Band - XL Black is a straightforward replacement strap for the Vivoactive HR, offered in the longer XL length and a neutral black finish. It suits existing Vivoactive HR owners whose original band has worn out, stretched, or simply become too short for comfortable daily wear, and who want to keep using a tracker they already own rather than replace it.
